Seeds of Peace’s International Camp offers a traditional summer camp environment that enables youth leaders to come together and move beyond the stereotypes, prejudices, and mistrust dividing their communities. For two weeks, these youth have the rare opportunity to live together and form close relationships in bunks and on the playing fields. Daily 90-minute dialogue sessions, led by professional facilitators, explore concepts of identity, culture, and community; analyze stereotypes and misperceptions; and prepare youth to impact their peers, schools, and communities throughout the year.
Eligibility: Students entering 10th or 11th grade in Fall 2012 are eligible to apply. Seeds of Peace is looking for a diverse group of dynamic students with demonstrated leadership potential and an interest in connecting communities in Syracuse.
Cost: There is no fee for participation in this program, thanks to the generosity of Say Yes to Education and its supporters.
