Building Community by Serving Communities
Thanks to a grant from the County of Onondaga, InterFaith Works has launched a new initiative to bridge the divides between city and suburban congregations through dialogue and volunteerism. The InterFaith Education and Engagment program will provide support to bring congregations together for joint service projects to help build relationships and engage in meaningful shared service projects.
By cultivating relationships between urban and suburban faith communities, the InterFaith Education and Engagement program will equip people with dialogue tools so that difficult conversations can take place and help people move towards deeper understanding. Participation in joint volunteer activities will fasten citizen participation and improve quality of life for all.
