Event Details:

The United Nations is raising awareness of violence based on religion or belief and recently released a resolution condemning all acts of violence against persons on the basis of their religion or belief, including their places of worship.

Please join us at the Syracuse City Hall Commons Atrium (201 E. Washington St.)  starting at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 for a “Security Summit for Places of Worship,”  which will be followed by a proclamation at 1 p.m. by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh to commemorate the victims of violence based on religion or belief.  Admission to the summit is free and open to the public, and will provide faith communities with resources to develop security plans for their places of worship.
