Trainings and Support

Trainings employ a dialogue method (though which participants contribute to other participant’s knowledge and learning) to:

  • explore racial identity
  • increase understanding of implicit bias
  • develop a personal commitment.

Trainings are typically provided as an introduction for people and organizations to the dialogue process.

“This training will push me to be aware of the stereotyping that I do, or that is around me in the workplace. I must pause and think about where its coming from in myself or where it might be coming from in somebody else. Moving forward, I will try to start a dialogue when biases are revealed.”

Multicultural Assessment

Through the support of the Central New York Human Services Leadership Council, the El-Hindi Center for Dialogue has received extensive training in the Intercultural Development Inventory®, a 50-item questionnaire available online that can be completed in 15–20 minutes. According to the IDI® website, the IDI® is accepted as the assessment of choice by over 1,300 organizations & schools, and over 500,000 individuals throughout the world have taken the IDI to improve intercultural competence.

Assessments, feedback, and action plans are delivered based on the IDI® continuum of multicultural behavior, and is delivered both descriptively and neutrally, with a focus on improvement. Assessments can be done on an individual or group basis.
