InterFaith Works resettles hundreds of refugees yearly and provides many programs to help them become self-sufficient. Some of these programs include employment services and English as a second language (ESL) classes.
The resettlement process can be challenging and intimidating for many refugees. The culture shock can have refugees feeling nervous, and language barriers make it difficult for them to interact with others in their new communities.
IFW is seeking local families and individuals to help us achieve our goal of making refugees self sufficient, as well as easing some of their anxieties of adjusting to their new lives. There is no time commitment; tasks can range from providing a ride, to being a mentor for a child in elementary school through college. By building relationships with refugees, you are not only making a difference in their lives, but making a difference in our community.
